A study in composition, rhythm, and restraint.Setting the Table
Mateus.
Holiday Table Films.
Role: Director, Concept Developer
Blonde Inc. — Production Company
It started with restraint.
Holiday content leans into excess.
More decoration. More movement. More emotion.
This does the opposite.
To showcase the Mateus collection within a Christmas setting without slipping into something generic. To keep the focus on the objects and let the atmosphere build around them.
Everything starts with the table.
The series is built around three moments.
Anticipation. Detail. Presence.
Each film adds a layer, moving from stillness to life.
The System
Each film follows a clear progression:
Anticipation
The table comes together. Placement becomes rhythm.
Detail
Focus shifts to the objects. Material, texture, and form.
Presence
People enter. The table becomes a shared space.
Across all three, the structure stays consistent.
Build. Observe. Resolve..
The Movement
Camera movement follows the table's logic.
A plate was placed.
A candle lit.
Steam rising.
Hands entering frame.
Movement is slow and deliberate, always tied to action. The goal is to guide attention without breaking the calm.
The Table Holds
Products remain visible throughout.
Hands are treated as choreography, not clutter.
Every frame is composed with intention.
The setting evolves.
The atmosphere builds.
People come and go.
Each film begins on a clean slate.
Reset. Ready again.
The table remains constant.
